About the event

The  Geothermal Alliance of Illinois (GAOI), Citizens Utility Board (CUB),  and Midwest Renewable Energy Association present an informative session  on geothermal heat pumps.

Our experts will provide an overview of the design and installation  of geothermal heat pumps, including how they operate, system costs, and  savings. You'll also learn about the environmental benefits of  geothermal heat pumps. This presentation is presented in collaboration  with the Skokie Sustainable Environment Advisory Commission.

After the presentation, you'll have the opportunity to ask any  questions you may have during our Q&A session. Don't miss out on  this chance to learn more about geothermal heat pumps and how they can  benefit your home.

This is a hybrid event with an option to participate on Zoom. Online  participants will receive the Zoom link in their confirmation email.

Speaker John Freitag is the executive director of the Geothermal  Alliance of Illinois, the state trade association for the geothermal  heat pump industry. He is a 32-year veteran of the electric utility  industry, retiring from the Illinois electric cooperatives in 2017.  Freitag was instrumental in the start up of the GAOI in 2008. He lives  in Springfield, where his home has had geothermal heating and cooling  since 1999. An advocate of energy efficiency and renewable energy,  Freitag has had a solar rooftop PV system at his home for the past 10  years as well. He has served on a number of boards and commissions, and  is currently a member of the board of trustees of the Lincoln Academy of  Illinois.
