About the event

will provide a beginner/introduction to natural soap-making program which includes a 'make your own melt & pour soap bar' and an educational soap presentation.Soapy Roads of Lombard

Each participant will be provided with equipment and ingredients to craft their own natural soap with natural botanicals (clays and plants) for color and essential oils for fragrance. We supply a hot soap base that has already gone through the saponification process. In our beginner class, we do not handle sodium hydroxide. The soap base is an organic goat's milk made from only 8 ingredients: coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil, glycerin, liquid goat's milk, sorbitol (for moisture), purified water and sodium hydroxide.

While the soaps harden we will learn about the history and origins of soap-making. Once soaps are hardened we will package them for safekeeping or gift-giving with a compostable cling wrap made from plant starch, then seal them with a compostable custom…
